As you are aware the main motive of our Government to launch this scheme is to get the Solar Rooftop Systems installed. Initially the government has set the aim to Install 1 Crore Rooftop Solar Systems under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Under this scheme, the central government is providing Subsidy on the price of Solar System. Some states are providing additional subsidy to the beneficiaries on state level. The remaining amount can also be paid in Instalment as many banks are offering Loan under this scheme.

PM Surya Ghar Yojana Solar Rooftop Cost
The price of Rooftop Solar panel depends on the Capacity of the plant. Most commonly used Solar Rooftop plants are 1kW, 2kW and 3kW.
You must decide the capacity of the Solar plant before applying. Once you are sure about the Capacity requirements, you can then find out the expenditure involved.

The above tables simply tells you the actual expected price of the Solar Rooftop System. This price doesn’t include the Subsidy.
As mentioned earlier in the article, the Central government is providing Subsidy to all the beneficiaries of the scheme. Some states are providing additional subsidy.
The scheme offers a generous subsidy of 60% of the total cost for solar systems with a capacity of up to 2 kW. For systems between 2 kW and 3 kW, an impressive 40% of the additional cost is covered. Keep in mind that the subsidy is limited to systems with a capacity of up to 3 kW.

The final cost to the end user = Actual Cost of Solar Rooftop – Subsidy.
Using this formula, you can calculate the final payable amount under the Solar Rooftop Scheme.
How to find the payable amount for solar rooftop more than 3Kw capacity?
The Maximum subsidy is capped at Rs. 78,000 which is the subsidy amount offered for 3Kw plant. If you opt to install a higher capacity rooftop solar system for example 5Kw or 7Kw or 9Kw etc., the final price can be calculated by subtracting 78,000 from the actual price of the system.
How to find and contact the authorized Vendor?
It is extremely important to only contact the authorized vendor (seller) for rooftop solar system installation. You can check the Authorized Vendor list and contact them via email or phone number.
